Climate protection and carbon emissions trading

Increasing global concern about climate change has set the path for today’s legal framework on climate protection law at the international, European and national level. The most well-known instrument is the EC-wide carbon emission trading.

Since 2002, our law firm has been dealing with climate protection law, advising the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and the German Federal Environmental Agency on diverse projects concerning the implementation of international law, mainly in cooperation with policy-advising institutes such as the Ecologic gGmbH, Berlin, the Öko-Institut e.V., Berlin, or IZES gGmbH, Saarbrücken.

We actively support plant operators and industrial companies in their participation in emission trading and other climate protection mechanisms.
